3 reasons why we have chosen Menorca:

1. There is a lack of long term parking spaces near the airport of Menorca

2. Strict Spanish building regulations makes it difficult to find buildable land near the airport

3. The property marked in Menorca is seeing a sustained rise in prices, up 15% in the last two years, according to Engel & Völkers and other sources

“Forget mainland Spain. Forget the Balearic sister islands Ibiza and Mallorca. Property prices on Menorca are on the rise and the two largest cities – Mahon and Ciutadella – are currently being swept up by eagle‑eyed investors.”

Facts about Menorca

Quick Facts

  • Area: 695.7 km2
  • Capital: Maó, Spanish Mahón
  • Population: 91,170
  • Official languages: Catalan and Spanish

Menorca belongs to Spain, and is one of the Islands located in the Mediterranean Sea.

In the year 1993, Menorca was designated by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve, due to the great Mediterranean landscapes and nature.

The easiest way to get around from the airport is by car. You can drive from one end of the island to another in less than one hour. Cars are the most common vehicles and there are no trains on the island. Even though some areas only are accessible at foot, cars remain one of the best ways to discover Menorca.

If you do not have a car, there are several car rental agencies that provide the car rental services. Taxis, buses and especially boats are other popular means of tranportation on the island.

“Sale prices for residential properties have risen by some 15 percent all over the island in the last two years alone. The reason behind this trend is an increased level of demand for second homes together with an extremely limited number of properties on offer.”
